His first show in Istanbul was greeted with rapture and when I heard of him through the grapevine I set my sights on tracking down these mythical pieces of jewellery.
Unlike anything you have ever seen, less affected by the materials used than by the end result he mixes gold and silver with diamonds and quartz, you will find finely painted internal carvings of churches and mosques adorned with symbols of varying faiths. Grand works of art that float from the fingers, containing so much detail that you become lost in them, with a truly genius sense of weight and proportion.
As with most jewellery, the only way to truly appreciate this work is to come in and try it on. Prepare to become a Sevan worshipper, as I am.
